The Will

Thought-plated insides of the brain
which can never be inked enough to be understood
The changing cloud shapes
none of the two being the same
An imaginary friend
who doesn’t know its way out of my head

This is the legacy
melancholy has left for me

faceless and beautiful
twisted in abysmal
bouts of despair

  1. This is so beautifully sad. Like trying to break out of your shell, but still remaining trapped, partly because you want to remain as you are, and partly because you just can’t seem to find a crack in the cage.

      1. My friends thinkI’m weird because I get poetry. But I can’t help it! It speaks to me. You know what I mean? But, I thank you for writing it, because it’s almost EXACTLY how I feel right now. Nice to know that someone relates.
