It must be the Moon

SavedPicture-20141117185034.jpg
If it is alone
in tepid night
Jostling through the
desire to twinkle
Shines silver to hide
an occasional red
Cloaks its blissful
dimples as tragic craters
It must be the moon

If it slides across skies-
a gothic fountain-pen nib
ridding melancholics
off their stories
Stars – its calligraphy
Feels no need to be
noticed or understood
waning in its rustic mood
It must be the moon

For the moral lies
in its banal love
of limitless darkness
where it stands as
strong as a dot.
After which I start
Before that I stopped

  1. Light, this is stunning writing! Oh my, you were able to take my mind so far ways, the imagery beautiful and fantastic. The last two lines are my favorite:

    “After which I start
    Before that I stopped”

Very thought provoking, indeed! Please take good care.

    Warmly,
    Pepperanne

    1. Thank you every so much, Pepper, you’re very generous as always, my friend. I’m beaming while reading that it took your mind far ways – that’s very encouraging!
Ah, the last two lines – thank you, I doubted its placement there but I suppose it worked the way it is.
You too, take care and please have a splendid rest of the week! ♥

      Much love,
      Light

      1. Hehehe. I thought it was very cute. 🙂
I, for one, am not so well today, not these past days. Too much rain and grey skies. Makes me depressed and irritable. Trying to be hopeful though.
        Thanks for caring.
        🙂 ❤

      2. Aww, rainy weather makes me irritable too, it’s the constant dullness and cold, I suppose. You know what I do to ward it off, is listen to a lop of up-beat music hehehe, try that, maybe it’ll help! Oh, and another uncanny method is to try listening to some nursery rhymes, ahahaha, it helps! 😀
Winter is no good either, Sun’s out role-playing a night lamp, my palms and feet are *always* cold. -.-
        No problemo! XD
Don’t let the rain drown your spirits down, my friend! ❤

      3. You’re so sweet. Your response is an encouragement. I’m so appreciative to have blogger friends like you, who know how to lift someone up when they’re down. You know, I think I’m going to art journal tonight.
        Thanks sweetie.

  2. Perfectly Calibrated! Yes, it emphatically must be the moon…with so much of silvern beauty. “Feels no need to be
    noticed or understood
    waning in its rustic mood
It must be the moon”- in out -and-out admiration for the quoted.
Love you much for this lovesome moonlit poetry.

    1. Thanks so very much, R! 😀
Your comments are always so special – as they make me feel special too!
I paused while writing the lines you quoted – ’cause I felt it isn’t much ‘out there’ so I am super glad that you liked that part! ^_^
Hope you have a fabulous moonlit night there, my dearest! Love you!
