I was there

Tired of being told
What to like
And what not to
She left that day on her own
Leaving behind the fear
of inappropriate choices
To experience
how flying without wings felt like
or what running out of reasons to lie was about

No one ever came to know
what fearlessness had in store for her
She never came back home
As, never being found became her reality

  1. YA! Stop pew pew laser-ing me with beauties, this popped up out of nowhere! No, keep it up, it was surprise beauty xD It’s a miracle that even beheaded i can read, even though you’re heartless and you don’t become a surgeon to help me :/

I see what you did there. *points with a one-meter long finger – Pinocchio finger* Feels like one of the possible continuations of your previous beauty, the one is remaining in the same stagnant waters and losing your identity even more, the other one following your own path ahead, away from anyone/anything bothersome. And that’s the direction the poem chose. “how flying without wings felt like” now that was something really beautiful, flying with the wings of your soul is something like that and it’s a beautiful feeling and your line was as beautiful as that. And the final verses were really beautiful, one’s life became her personal business, through fearlessness for her and her alone and a new reality far away from anyone/anything bothersome, a reality no one would be able to find, except for her to treasure it to the fullest with hope for the best of outcomes. I don’t love your poems. *wanted to say something different that doesn’t make any sense in the end*

    1. I am heartless! Yes! Fear me. Run, Kwon, RUN! xD
Haha, Pinocchio Fingers! Intriguing! Yeah, all of what I write are based on experiences so it’s pretty much the same or carries the same message. I’m glad you liked that line about wingless flight. Exactly – “flying with the wings of your soul is something like that and it’s a beautiful feeling” and that feeling only sets in me through reading great works or at times by writing. Thank you very much, Kwon! I’m very glad my words could reach you, as do yours. πŸ™‚
Hehehe, I see what you did there in the last line! Honto arigato ne (not sure if that’s even remotely correct)! ^_^

  2. Wow, I am blown away by this one; there is so much relief and joy in living life on your own terms, despite the opinions and judgments of others. The ability to do this represents tremendous strength in a person’s spirit. I really love this one, my friend. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much, my friend! I’m very glad you liked it. And, I completely agree about the joy in living life on our own terms – it’s vital, specially after a specific point in time when living according to others becomes impossible. I know you understand the true meaning behind this piece.
      Please enjoy your Sunday! πŸ™‚

      1. Oh no, that’s like walking on eggs, isn’t it. I hate that feeling. I used to have a roommate like that. I always felt like I was walking on eggs around her.
You’re the star, my friend. Of course I would take time out for you, my caffeine-loving friend.
